I’m going to let you in on one of the diet tricks I’ve learned for getting over 100 grams of high quality protein in my stomach in a matter of minutes. It does not involve liquefying chicken so don’t worry about that (yes some people actually do that). If you don’t know already, almost all grocery stores sell “pasteurized egg whites”. How these differ from eggs is that it is the egg without the egg yolk in it. In other words, the calorie dense non-protein part of the egg has been removed. In addition, “pasteurized” means the bacteria has been cooked out of it prior to packaging. That means it is safe to drink right out of the jug. While you can definitely cook and eat them like a normal person, I like to pour 500 ml of egg whites into a shaker cup, and throw in 2 scoops of high quality Whey protein. The end result is a super tasty shake with a whopping 106 grams of highly bio-available protein. I used to wonder how bodybuilders could eat double their bodyweight in grams of protein on a daily basis. I struggled just to eat 250 grams of protein. Then one day, a top tier bodybuilder told me about pasteurized egg whites. While in theory it sounds gross, they actually taste like sugar water, or watered down milk. I’m not kidding. You’ll be shocked how easy it is to get 300+ grams of protein per day once you start incorporating liquid egg whites into your diet. I drink about a litre of them every day. It’s incredibly difficult to eat enough meat, eggs, cottage cheese, or whatever your main protein source is to hit your protein goals. Drinking an egg white + whey protein concoction makes doing this easier than ever.
