Our BLACK Coffee is an organic Sumatra variety sourced from the family run Jagong Mill surrounding farms located in the Takengon and Atu Lintang coffee region of Aceh province in Sumatra, Indonesia.
The coffee is grown at altitudes of 4,200 ft (1,300 m) – 5,200 ft (1,600 m) in volcanic loam before being dried in the sun. By only using ripe red fruit, this family of coffee farmers are pioneering something unique in Sumatra.
Our growers control the whole process from tree to mill to export. That means they are able to avoid the long and convoluted supply lines that can compromise Sumatran quality.
The coffee features low acidity and a rich, well balanced, heavy body. Many describe it to have a smokey, velvety finish.
