The most common excuse for not exercising is “I don't have the time.”
There is a huge misconception on how much time it really takes to get an elite physique.
It only takes about 4% of your week to build an elite physique. Even less if you know what you're doing from the get go.
The reason there are so few elite physiques out there is not because people don't have the time, it's because they're not consistent.
I spend one hour per day in the gym, five days per week.
And I've been doing that for 8 years straight.
This concept of “not having time” is simply an excuse to justify doing nothing.
Very few people are patient enough to commit to the level of consistency needed to build a great physique.
Even if you literally didn't have the time, it would be very easy to chop 1 hour off your sleep and do some exercise each day.
7 hours of sleep won't make or break your mental sharpness as opposed to 8. And you'll feel much better due to being in phenomenal shape and in healthier form.
With the New Year upon us, many are going to make a resolution to get in shape and improve their body. Few are going to stick with it more than a couple weeks.
It takes 21 days to form a habit.
During the first 21 days of your regimen, it is critical that you don't falter or slack.
Once working out 5-6x per week has become a habit, it will be so embedded in your mind that you will need to go exercise and won't consider it a chore or nuisance anymore.
It will simply be a part of your every day routine. That's the goal here and it is achieved with consistency.
Once your regimen becomes habit, you'll be on track to building your perfect body. Then you'll realize how minuscule a time sacrifice of 5-6 hours out of your week is.
You have 168 hours per week to do whatever you want. Sleep, work, eat, do nothing, workout, hangout with friends, etc.
If you feel you are unable to allocate 5 hours of those 168 hours to exercise, I suggest you take a step back and reevaluate your priorities.
This isn't about getting an elite beach body. This is about increasing your vitality, quality of life, and overall longevity.
It doesn't take long to build a jaw dropping body. It takes the right mindset, commitment and consistency.
